The quiz was prepared in Bahasa Meleyu and I'm facing a problem to answer the question because I'm not really familiar with the word that been using.I think, the quiz should be handled in English because it is easy to understand.

Me and my friend are given the different question although we take the same quiz. This is to avoid student from copy with each other. The question was simple and the time given is 30 minutes.

About this course, I'm really enjoy takinf this course because it is give me a lot of information. From this course I learn something new.

COMPUTER ASSISTED LANGUAGE TESTING

In The current era of globalization, mastering of English is associated with leading edge scientific, technologically and economics developments. The rapid rate of innovations in information technology (IT) has hastened the rise and spread of English as international language for global communication. Thus, mastering of English is essential to gain competitive edge in the global market. A proficiency test is beneficial to inform on the lecturers’ general language ability and linguistic knowledge and at the same time take into accounts the academics’ schedule. The test must be quick and easy to administer, score and interpret.

On the other hand, it has to be challenging, tailored to each taker’s ability level. The test also must available on demand and automated for immediate viewing of scores. The online test provides test results summary and details on the number of user attempts, total test takers attempt, user average score and overall high score. To stay viable in this global competitive market, providers of education and training must develop efficient and effective learning systems to meet the society's needs. Learners expect on-demand, anytime/anywhere high-quality instruction with good support services. What does it take to provide the best and most meaningful open, flexible, and distributed learning environments for learners worldwide?

There are many advantages of Computer Adaptive Testing. Ability estimates in CALT tests are determined by the examinee's pattern of responses. This testing methodology results in increased measures at the individual's approximate level of ability, which in turn provide for increased test accuracy. Improved test accuracy results in greater test efficiency, meaning that fewer items are necessary to evaluate the student's ability, and, consequently, less time is required for testing. When taking conventional paper-and -and-pencil tests, students are forced to answer a wide range of questions, many of which are either much too easy or much too difficult. Because adaptive tests administer items near the ability level of the student, they reduce test boredom from too-easy items and frustration from too-hard items. Thus attitudes toward tests improve.

In addition, having students work at their own pace answering items at their approximate ability levels makes for an ideal power test. Since the items used in a computer adaptive test are carefully calibrated on a difficulty scale, it becomes possible to generate almost any number of alternative, equated tests. Examinees who take a CALT test are all measured on the same scale, yet their tests may be quite different in composition. Test security and cheating are no longer a major concern.
